With a special time set apart for singing unto the Lord and truly dedicating this new month to Him, the incredible worship leader, Eben, led viewers and participants around the world in praise and thanksgiving. Worship is like the glue that keeps our faith in God in sync with our true reality. As we worship God with great expectation that He not only is Who He says He is, but that He will do what He says He will, it becomes inevitable that our reality would grow in greater alignment with His.

“In your spirit, you are going to be standing lifted up,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome declares to the global congregation.

As Pastor Chris Oyakhilome announced the word of the month to be “Uplifted”, the audience broke into praise and amazement at yet another divine direction given from the Holy Spirit. The word or act of ‘uplifting’ is spoken of throughout scripture in many ways. Whether it is us, disciples of Christ, uplifting one another or uplifting the name of God as followers of Christ, it is what God is urging us to practice in this new month.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome shared a soul-stirring sermon, focusing on 1 Chronicles 14:1-2 and Acts 3:1-8. The Bible describes both physical uplifting, as well as spiritual uplifting. In the following scriptures, we understand that God grants spiritual blessing on those He uplifts. Out of obedience and surrender to the Lord, David gained all of Israel and because of the obedience of the people, Israel was exalted above all other kingdoms.

1 Chronicles 14:1-2

Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house.

And David perceived that the Lord had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

In the very famous story recorded in the book of Acts, chapter 3, Peter and John claimed the powerful name of Jesus and commanded the lame man to get up and walk. This is an excellent example of how total and complete transformation takes place as we lift our eyes and our hope to Jesus Christ, rather than to man.

Acts 3:1-8

“One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.”

As the month of September takes off in beautiful newness, we uplift the name of God and exalt Him above all things. You are guaranteed to experience fullness in Christ like never before.
