0FALA 2022: Pastor Chris to announce 30 nominees this weekend
Ahead of the Future Africa Leaders’ Awards 2022 (FALA), Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is set to reveal the 30 nominees for the prestigious award at the Future Africa Leaders’ Awards Nomination Show on Sunday, December 18th.
The show will be shown on all LoveWorld tv channels and internet platforms at 7 PM GMT+1.
According to the Future Africa Leaders’ Foundation, the organization behind the award show, “30 outstanding, vibrant and exceptional youth leaders from Africa who have contributed immensely and demonstrated exemplary leadership by impacting their generation positively through education, youth empowerment, mentoring, agriculture, technology, economic development and some special programs and projects will be nominated.”
The 30 nominees will be in the run towards becoming the Star Prize Winner, while 10 of them will also receive awards for their work their communities. It will happen at the Future Africa Leaders’ Awards on Saturday, December 31st.
While Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is choosing who the winners will be, Pastor T.T. Temisan is anchoring the show.
The prizes at this year’s award show have not been disclosed, but in previous years, the 10 winners have received $10,000, while the Star Prize Winner won $25,000.
The purpose of the award show is to acknowledge young Africans who are making great impacts in their local communities.
By doing so, the Future Africa Leaders’ Foundation hopes to encourage other African youths to take lead and make a difference for their generation and the generations to come.
Following in Nervis Nzometiah Tetsop’s footsteps
This year’s Star Prize Winner follows in the footsteps of Nervis Nzometiah Tetsop from Cameroon, who won the award in 2021.
Nervis Nzometiah Tetsop is known for his work as a community builder and technology innovator in Cameroon.
He has hosted workshops and seminars on career opportunities in IT for over 3000 people, among other things.
In 2020, he and his 3D printer won the ICT Project of the Year at the ICT Innovation Week in Cameroon. Nervis Nzometiah Tetsop developed the 3D printer as a tool for his fellow students to use in the visualization of their final projects in robotic engineering.
He also founded the Nervtek Community in Cameroon, where he teaches young people digital skills, including hardware development and computer programming.
“Our mission is to empower all the people in the community with digital skills that will fit into the latest trends and help build our communities. What I do is not by might but by the vision that God has planted in me. My vision is to develop my community by using technology. I aim at promoting other young people by teaching them skills that will help them in the future,” Nervis Nzometiah Tetsop said at the ICT Innovation Week.
