0Pastor Chris and the Future Africa Leaders Award: Honoring Young African Leaders
Closing the Year of Redemption with a Vision for Africa
As we draw the blessed Year of Redemption to a close, the Future Africa Leaders Award (FALA) remains a beacon of hope and transformation across Africa. Hosted by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, this annual award celebrates and empowers exceptional young African leaders who are paving the way for innovation, education, and societal progress.
A Platform for Young Leaders
The Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) was established to identify, nurture, and celebrate leadership potential in Africa. With a vision to raise financial, intellectual, and technological giants, FALF empowers youths to address the challenges facing Africa. According to Pastor Chris, “No one will build Africa for us. Africa will be built by Africans.”
The foundation equips young people to create sustainable change in their communities through mentorship, education, and leadership projects.
Pastor Chris: A Beacon of Inspiration for a Generation
The Future Africa Leaders Award is the centerpiece of this vision. Every year on December 31, the ceremony recognizes ten young leaders between the ages of 16 and 23 who have demonstrated exceptional impact in their local communities. From youth empowerment to solving societal challenges, these leaders stand as role models of innovation and dedication.
Each recipient receives a $10,000 grant to further their projects. In addition, an outstanding winner receives an extra $25,000 for their exceptional contributions. Since its inception in 2013, the award has honoured 110 youths from 28 African nations. Over $1.35 million in grants has been distributed, empowering leaders to transform Africa.
The program’s influence extends beyond recognition; it inspires countless others to rise to their leadership potential.
A Global Stage with Pastor Chris:
Uniting Africa and the World
The annual award ceremony, hosted by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, gathers distinguished guests, including African leaders and global influencers. Past events have been graced by keynote speakers such as Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, Nobel Laureate Leymah Roberta Gbowee, and Liberia’s Madame President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
This event is more than a celebration—it is a call to action for Africa’s youth to embrace leadership, progress, and innovation. As Pastor Chris emphasizes, “Now is the time to shape Africa’s future.”
Empowering Change Across Africa
Beyond the award, the Future Africa Leaders Foundation continues its mission through mentorship programs, leadership networks, and collaborative opportunities. The Leadership Initiative Network (LIN), a subset of FALF, connects young leaders dedicated to solving Africa’s challenges.
LIN creates a dynamic platform where innovation meets impact, encouraging participants to spearhead sustainable development in their communities. These initiatives reinforce Pastor Chris’s vision of a united and progressive Africa driven by its young people.
