Pastor Chris: “No matter what happens, refuse to fret; you are not of the world”
Not long ago, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome analyzed the Bible verse of Psalm 102:13, which says: “Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”
The pastor explained that in this quote, Noah presents an excellent example of a man who walked in favour of God.
According to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Genesis 6:8 says that “Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord”; thus, when God decided to destroy the earth by flood, He instructed Noah to build an ark to protect him from the deluge.
So, as it rained, it did not matter the extent of the flood and the destruction it left in its wake for the people of the world; the same waters bore the ark of Noah up. He did not have to bother about the flood because he favored God.
The pastor then explained how God has granted believers an abundance of grace, meaning they are in favor of Him. Accordingly, believers are expected to live and walk with the consciousness of one whom the Lord favours.
“No matter what happens, refuse to fret; you are not of the world. Maintain this consciousness, or otherwise, you will be walking against the word of God without realizing it, thereby exposing yourself to unnecessary challenges, difficulties, and frustrations,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome emphasized.
Pastor Chris: “It is why it is vital that believers choose to live in the ark of God”
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome went on to explain that walking in favour does not mean that the flood will not come. He believes that it is important to remember that God warned Noah ahead of the flood and instructed him to build an ark and stay in the ark. It would have been foolish for Noah to pray against the water instead of acting on the word to build and remain in the ark.
That is why it is vital that believers choose to live in the ark of God – His Word – and they will never be disadvantaged because they have found favour with the Lord. Some think that if everything is alright, they will find favour with God, but no.
Since most people do not favour the word of God, many today are trapped, struggling to escape one predicament or the other, which they may have created through their own words, according to the pastor.
Therefore, believers must decide to speak the word of God; talk kingdom-talk.
“You are in the kingdom of God, and it is a kingdom run by words, where we rule and prevail by our wholesome, faith-filled words,” he said.
“Remember the admonition of the Lord in Joshua 1:8, ‘This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth…’; it is about the word in your mouth,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome explained.
