0Pastor Chris on marriage: “You never have to wonder if you are doing the right thing”
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome not only hosts various events, such as the Healing Streams Live Healing Services, but he also answers questions from LoveWorld members all over the world.
Anne from the United States submitted a question about marriage for Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
“I am a 29-year-old lady who is serving God in full-time ministry. I feel the call upon my life is big, and sometimes I think it may not be able to accommodate marriage. My mother thinks I am insane and does not believe it is even possible for me to be called to be single. The pressure is so much that sometimes I think maybe I should get married. But deep inside, I see a purpose greater than marriage. What should I do?” she asked.
The pastor explained that Anne should follow three steps.
“The first thing you have to do is to pray consistently in the Spirit. Praying in the Spirit helps to position you in line with God’s thinking because praying in the Spirit activates the Spirit. When the Spirit is activated, it gets to the fine point of being able to receive God’s signals and His thoughts. So, the first thing you do is ensure that you pray often and frequently in the Spirit. That means praying in tongues,” he said.
Pastor Chris: “Keep your focus on the things that God has asked you to do”
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome also emphasized that Anne should focus on the things that God has asked her to do.
“The second thing you have to do is to focus on those things that God has called you to do because if you keep your focus and are not being distracted from things God has called you to do, you will be able to work in God’s purpose from one stage to another. That is very important. Keep your focus on the things that God has asked you to do. Do not push them into the future. Your future begins now. Find yourself in the things that God has asked you to do,” the pastor explained.
He then reiterated how important it is that she does what God has called her to do.
“Just because you are in the ministry does not mean that you are doing the things that God has called you to do because there are daily thoughts. There are daily actions. There are things that God calls us to do, and we have to find ourselves doing them. That is so important. Be sure that you are doing the things that God has called you to do. Set your mind on those things. Remain focused,” he stated.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome then highlighted the third and last step that Anne should follow.
“The third thing is to meditate on God’s word, meaning that you are assimilating God’s thoughts into your spirit. In that way, your spirit will be conditioned to act according to God’s purposes for your life. If you do this, the necessary resort of this will be that the Spirit of God would use these materials and this way of life to guide you into His plan and purpose. The very perfect will of God for your life. So that you never have to wonder whether or not you are doing what is right,” he explained.
